Experience
Intel - Process Engineering Intern
In the summer of 2024, I worked at Intel as a Process Engineering Intern, based out of the company’s Fab 32 in Phoenix, Arizona. I worked in the Planar Department, which specializes in Chemical-Mechanical Polishing (CMP), an integral part of the semiconductor manufacturing process. As part of the Planar team, I owned a tool, which meant that I was responsible for its performance. I tracked the performance of the tool and reported its status to my team and manager twice a day, troubleshooting the various issues that appeared, whether they were related to tool performance or the semiconductor wafers themselves. Every issue the tool faces is unique and as a result, so are the solutions that I needed to come up with. It was an amazing learning experience, as I developed my problem solving and data analysis skills. I also led a project that aimed to reduce cost by extending the life of a component in our CMP tools. The proposed process amendments resulted in cost savings of $28,000 per quarter.
Aquiles Solutions - Data Science Intern
In the summer of 2023, I interned at Aquiles Solutions as a Data Science Intern in Barcelona, Spain. It was a special experience as I was working in Barcelona, a place where I do not speak the language, at a startup in a role where my experience was limited. Nevertheless, getting pushed outside of my comfort zone was exactly what I needed. I improved my computer science skills (building upon my education from my CS minor at UT), gained a deeper understanding of AI, and used my cross-cultural skills to connect with people from different backgrounds. Finally, I had the pleasure of working on a machine learning project that set out to digitally optimize the warehouse operations of a global-logistics company based in Spain, through the use of computer-vision.
